Anushka Sharma alongside her modelling profession, enrolled in an acting academy and began giving auditions to movies. Anushka appeared in an acting role with Shah Rukh Khan opposite Anushka. To get ready for her screen test, she took an entire day. Then she was a part of three films for Yash Raj Films. She portrayed an unwed bride and was married to a man who was middle aged (the persona Shah Rukh Khan was portraying). The film was hit on the box office and was the second-highest-grossing movie of 2008. Anushka appeared with Shahid Kapoor, Vi Das as well as Meiyang Chang in the 2010 film "Badmash Company". The film was met with mixed receptions. That same year Anushka Sharma was seen in the movie 'Band Baaja Baaraat' with Ranveer Singh, in which she played the role of a middle-class Punjabi girl who starts her own business of wedding planning.
