Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) better known by her real title Ari Lennox is an American musician and singer who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. In October of 2016, Ari Lennox released her Pho EP. It was here that she was recognized. Shea Butter Baby released her debut studio album on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012 with her release of her debut mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her single Bound and the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. In 2015, she was featured in Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. released on the 21st of July. J. Cole had her sing her songs for the Dreamville Team later in the year as he wanted Rihanna to collaborate alongside her on some of the songs. The 8th of December was the day she revealed that she had officially signed by Dreamville Records. The album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the song Backseat along with Cozz. On October 21, 2016 the EP Pho debuted. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening performance for J. Cole on his track Change in 2017, and performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018 she went on to be a guest on two of her songs along with labelmates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. The music video then released in September. On the 9th of November, she released two additional singles, forty Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Two more singles were released by her on November 13 Pedigree and No One. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby then made appearances on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single as a way in order to announce her debut album Creed II on 26 February 2019. The track was launched with a music video on YouTube February 20, 2019 has been viewed over 3 million times in the first seven days. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK on their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
